Join the Policy sector where we accelerate housing affordability through evidence-based policy and research. You will bring to this position your economic analysis and modeling expertise, collaborative capability and leadership to advance analytic insights in support of understanding current and future challenges of the housing system. In your role, you will plan, manage, contribute, complete and communicate research and analysis. Your work will contribute to the development and deployment of policies and strategies designed to improve housing affordability and living conditions.

This is a temporary position of a duration of 24 months.

Responsibilities: Â
Â
Develop and recommend high impact economic research, modelling, and housing data projects that accurately reflect corporate and government priorities.Â
Conduct economic research on a wide range of issues in relation to CMHC business areas. Manage, guide and provide oversight function for the work of external research consultants to ensure contracted deliverables and schedules.
Conduct analysis of primary and secondary data, using appropriate methodologies, quantitative and statistical analysis, to assess and address complex issues and challenges in the housing system.
Develop and maintain models and analytic tools by leading, coordinating or supporting multi-disciplinary teams whose members may include internal and external experts and other stakeholders.
Provide substantive expert input to the review and development of housing policies, strategies, programs, regulations and standards.Â
Provide thought leadership in areas of research expertise. Contribute to the achievement of the Corporate Strategy as they relate to housing analytics, research, knowledge transfer and evidence-based policy development.

Minimum Qualifications:
Â
A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline. (An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered).
Minimum of five years of experience in economic research, econometrics, modelling, quantitative analytics, forecasting, policy simulation.
Demonstrated experience in developing research and modeling projects in terms of scope, objectives, methodologies and management, and conducting rigorous quantitative analysis.
Experience with research and analysis of primary and secondary data using appropriate methodologies and statistical software, quantitative and statistical analysis and providing facts, evidence and conclusions to support internal and external decision making.
Working knowledge of social, economic and political trends, factors and issues that affect housing policies and issues.
A ‘can do’’ mindset with the desire to work collaboratively to deliver results that have a positive impact on the team, business unit and corporation.
Excellent communication and influence skills, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audience.Â
