Join the Government Programs Operations team, in the position of Senior Specialist, Compliance and Quality Assurance. In this role, you will support the operational functions for new and existing programs and provides strategic input into program direction and risk governance, including operations risk, and internal controls in ongoing activities and as part of strategic initiatives. You will oversee and/or undertake the successful completion of quality assurance, compliance and oversight, including planning, reporting, reviews, and data analysis.
This is a temporary position with a duration of 12 months.
What you’ll do: 
• Lead targeted oversight and independently challenge, deliver advice and report on operational insights for various programs and initiatives with various inter-dependencies across the corporation.
• Cultivate strategic alliances with peers and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with CMHC’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
• Aid in crafting metrics and processes to assess, report, as well as escalate program performance results, operational risks, third-party risk management or technology risk management. 
• Apply a nuanced understanding of operational risk oversight, key risk indicators, and business performance metrics insights.
• Achieve Client/management satisfaction with results, advice and recommendations.
 
What you should have:
 
• An undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce, management information systems, law, economics, data analytics, or a related domain.
• A minimum of seven years of prior relevant experience in risk management, quality assurance and oversight.
• Knowledge of regulatory and economic capital management theories and practices.
• Knowledge of financial and risk management policy development and understanding of mortgage loan insurance and related risks and concepts
• Sound judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellence interpersonal skills (tact, judgment, diplomacy, professionalism and political sensitivity).
• Oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
It would be great if you also had:
 
• Data visualization experience for impactful dashboard and reports.
• A demonstrated knowledge of CMHC financial systems.
• Experience with some data analysis.
