ABOUT YOUR ROLE
The Senior Advisor, Pension and Benefits will play a crucial role in the development, implementation and deployment of the various pension and benefits plans of all PSP employees globally. The Senior Advisor will also contribute to other strategic initiatives within the total rewards team. This position requires a subject-matter expert with strong communication skills, capable of managing complex projects and processes, and committed to supporting the organization’s strategic objectives through competitive total rewards strategies.
As a Senior Advisor, Pension and Benefits, your main responsibilities will include:
Benchmark the competitiveness of all global pension and benefits plans, including both defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, in alignment with business and corporate objectives. This includes market monitoring, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources, summarizing findings, and proposing recommendations
Lead the annual renewal process for all global benefits plans assigned to the role. This includes coordinating with external actuaries and brokers, negotiating with insurers, modeling financial impacts, and preparing relevant communications for employees
Prepare, lead and host Pension Committee meetings in various locations based on local requirements
Oversee the ongoing management of various pension and benefits programs, evaluate their effectiveness, and propose relevant changes to enhance the employee experience
Monitor legislative and legal compliance requirements globally, identify impacts on the PSP plans assigned to the role, and make required adjustments
Plan, organize, and develop regular targeted communications to employees based on data received from various providers, ensuring alignment with the team’s targets and desired outcomes
Build and manage strong relationships with various external providers, using influence to resolve all escalated inquiries. Assess and manage these providers, negotiate and manage contracts, and establish appropriate SLAs
Prepare pension and benefits reports and presentations for the senior leadership team autonomously
Gathering and analyze data for people analytics reporting, providing insights that support strategic decision-making
Create global tracking tools for various elements such as pension and benefit costs, premiums and consulting fees
Provide support and expertise to other HR team members in various matters related to pension and benefits plans
Enhancing processes by challenging outcomes and identifying areas for improvement, developing solutions and documenting new and existing procedures and practices to ensure consistency and compliance
Contributing to transversal initiatives and ad hoc deliverables within the Total Rewards team
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, human resources, business administration or related field of study
Professional designation in actuarial science, human resources, compensation, or benefits management (ACIA, FCIA, CEBS, etc.) is an asset
At least seven (7) years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting firm or within an organization with offices outside Canada, is an asset
Ability to draw conclusions from analytical results and data, and summarize findings concisely in reports and presentations
Excellent communicator with effective and professional written, verbal, and creative communication skills
Demonstrates a high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity
Able to navigate a fast-paced environment with flexibility and a high level of autonomy
Possesses strong organizational skills, managing competing priorities while respecting deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively, cultivating meaningful relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
Effective communication skills, bilingual (French and English), written and spoken
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, as well as other tools in the MS Office suite
Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
