Retail shift lead Full Time

Carlbergs Gift Shop is a family-owned gift store located in the heart of Whistler village, since 1981. We offer a unique product mix in our stores that reflect the spirit and energy that is Whistler and Canada. Over the years, Carlbergs has catered to an ever changing local and international clientele. We strive to have products that complement our clients’ gift buying needs.

We are currently recruiting for a Retail Shift Lead. Job duties are as follows:
• Supervise and lead the retail sales team;
• Ensure the team adheres to all safety and security measure in the store;
• Run the shift and delegate tasks to most efficiently meet the stores needs for that day;
• Work with the retail sales team to ensure displays are in order and products are out in a timely manner;
• Make changes to the schedule if necessary to accomplish daily goals;
• Authorize payments and the return of merchandise;
• Communicate with management any issues or concerns that need to be addressed, and help find a resolution to ensure smooth flow of the store operations;
• Perform inventory counts, report any items that are low, make house orders and assist with receiving.
• Coach and train new and existing staff according to the store standards;
• Assist management with the screening process for new applicants;
• Ensure visual standards are met and help merchandise products in the store;
• Prepare cash out reports
• Work in our warehouse to process deliveries, as needed;
• Perform retail sales duties as needed;
• Perform deposits, audits and other admin duties on occasion, as required.

Additional information:
• Full-time, permanent, year-round position.
• Schedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Shifts may vary from week to week.
• Wage: $22.60/hour with overtime per employment standards.

Requirements:
• Completion of high school and previous retail sales experience is required.
