JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
* A Journeyperson Mechanic shall install, operate, maintain, overhaul and repair mechanical equipment of all kinds, and mechanical portions of electrical equipment in the Employer’s electrical system exclusive of that in diesel generating stations.
Qualifications:
* A Machinist or Millwright trades qualification (TQ), BC or Interprovincial
* Certification (BC or Interprovincial) in welding Levels A, B or C would be an asset
* Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license
* Physically capable to perform the work
* Ability to function successfully in a crew environment
* A strong commitment to safety, WorkSafeBC requirements and safe working practices
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Well established computer skills

* Please note that this role is headquartered in the Fort St. John office. Once Site C is operational, the headquarters will shift to the Site C office.
* This location is eligible for a Remote Incentive of 12%. Remote Incentives are paid bi-weekly to Full-Time Regular employees working in eligible remote locations.
* Employees who work in a remote location that receives the 12 % remote incentive are eligible for an interest-free housing loan of up to $25,000 as well as the retiring relocation.
* This location is eligible for Extended Health Care Medical Travel Benefit. The Extended Health Care Medical Travel Benefit is extended to Full-Time Regular, Part-Time Regular and Full-Time Temporary employees who are permanently working in eligible remote locations.
* Experience in the maintenance of spillway gates and other industrial lifting devices an asset.
* Experience with diesel generators an asset.
* Experience operating overhead cranes an asset program.
* A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain the following requirements in good standing:
– Red Seal Trade Certificate (Machinist or Millwright), in Good Standing
– Driver’s License Type = Class 5
* Please be advised that this role has been assessed as safety sensitive and pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing will be required as a pre-condition to employment.

Flexible work model role definitions
===========================
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.
IBEW/Field – No option to work from home
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
