Job Description and Responsibilities:
• Prepare meals by reviewing recipes, assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
• Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, tasting, adding seasonings, and plating meals
• Have full knowledge of all menu items
• Complete hot meal preparation: grill, boil, bake or fry meats, and other ingredients
• Keep detailed and accurate records of inventory, food waste, supplies, and equipment to support management in the proper and efficient ordering of materials
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen and follow all safety and sanitation policies
• Ensure kitchen staff follows kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards to maintain a clean work area
Employment Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school
• 1-2 years cooking experience or completion of college or other programs in cooking
• Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain before the employment start date
• Be capable of taking direction well
