Aksis – Edmonton Indigenous Business and Professional Association, is a membership driven not-for-profit organization created to serve as a central meeting point that inspires Edmonton’s Indigenous business and professional community to connect, collaborate and flourish. The organization launched its operations in late 2013, serving a membership of Indigenous businesses and professionals, along with Indigenous student and non-Indigenous associate members. Aksis is focused on assisting in the development of its member businesses and professionals by: Providing referral and pathfinding/navigating services to business and professional supports, Facilitating linkages and connections between and amongst the larger business community, and Serving as the catalyst to creating a voice of its membership at key decision making tables. Aksis Vision: to make Edmonton the Indigenous Business Capital of Canada. Aksis Mission: to grow the Indigenous business and professional community. The organization and its Board of Directors have extensive knowledge and experience working with and developing Edmonton’s Indigenous business and professional community for the benefit of the greater Edmonton metropolitan area. This is accomplished through the many activities that Aksis provides to its members, such as business workshops, lunch and learns, co-hosting trade shows, networking events, industry dialogues, golf tournaments, as well as annual celebrations to acknowledge the contributions of its members to the Edmonton and area economy.
