Overview of Role:
Possess sound knowledge and understanding of child development
Maintain self-regulation to facilitate children’s development of same
Communicate, interact and listen to children with love and attention
Meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the children in our care
Provide quality opportunities for play, learning, and experiences to broaden children’s understanding and the way they interact with the world they live in
Provide positive opportunities to support children’s skills development and self-regulation
Offer leadership of children, providing corrective action without limiting or shaming
Ensure services offered are consistent with the Society’s core values, vision and mission, and best practices for care and education provision
Seek support, clarification, and collaboration to ensure children’s needs are met
Ensure services and facilities are compliant
Manage programming resources, funds, and administrative responsibilities
Worl cohesively and collaboratively with your team and all operational departments
Contribute to a safe, professional and supportive culture
Professionalism
qualifications and experience:
Early Childhood Education Certificate/Diploma with current license to practice
Two (2) years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Successful completion of the Society’s screening (including clear criminal record check) and orientation process
Excellent intercommunication skills
Physically agile and able to lift to 50lbs
