Director, Operations and Administration
Full-time (35 hrs/wk), permanent, management position
HIV Edmonton is an inclusive and dynamic community-based organization dedicated to working with diverse communities in amiskwaciswâskahikan and across Treaty 6 territory. We aim to build awareness of HIV and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI), prevent new transmissions, help people living with HIV and other STBBI to live longer, healthier lives, and support community members without judgement, stigma, or discrimination.
The Director, Operations and Administration is a full-time, permanent, onsite management level position that oversees the organization’s operational and administrative functions, which includes two pillars: Communications & Development and Evaluation. The incumbent in this position reports to the Executive Director, is a member of the Leadership team and supervises three (3) direct reports and a combined staff team up to ten (10). The Director, Operations and Administration is responsible for fund development, communications, evaluation and agency administration and operations infrastructure. The incumbent works collaboratively with agency staff, funders and community organizations to develop and nurture linkages in order to facilitate the achievement of HIV Edmonton’s vision and mission. Competencies in the supervision of staff, budget monitoring and accountability, employee relations, community relations, partner relations and grant writing are key in this comprehensive position.
This position may appeal to a candidate in the HIV Edmonton community or someone identifying from a disproportionally affected community. Incumbent ideally to start February 2025.
Qualifications
• University degree (preferably Master’s level) or demonstrated career advancement in leadership roles
• Minimum of 5 years directly related non-profit management experience including fund and resource development; communications and media engagement; agency-wide program evaluation and formal reporting; physical plant and facility management; and budget monitoring
• Exceptional acuity for navigating leadership in an organization implementing an integrated, equity-first approach
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, focus on strength-based practises, foster teamwork, make decisions, and have excellent organizational, planning and research skills and a strong ability to generate positive opportunities are all essential
• Exceptional staff supervision skills are required
• Excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Competency in computer software/databases including Microsoft Suite and CANFIT is preferred.
Salary: $68,000 to $75,000 per annum with benefits package plus RRSP contribution.
