WHAT’S THE JOB?
Under the general supervision of the Culinary Director & Catering Director, the Catering Expo Chef oversees organizing, planning, preparing and/or directing all catering events. This role also supports both front and back of house production as needed.
Coordinating Order Flow:
Expeditors manage the flow of food from the kitchen to the event rooms, ensuring orders are prepared and delivered efficiently.
Communication and Collaboration:
Act as a vital link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, relaying information about order status, changes, and customer requests. Listens to customers (internal and external) and responds professionally to all questions and concerns, directing concerns to further levels of management as needed.
Ensuring Order Accuracy and Presentation:
Check that orders are prepared correctly, plated appropriately, and garnished as specified.
Prioritizing and Expediting Service:
Prioritize orders to ensure a smooth and timely service, particularly during busy periods. Establish and implement food preparation schedules for catering events, creating an efficient, safe, and organized process.
Handling Customer Issues:
Be responsible for addressing minor customer complaints related to food preparation or order accuracy.
Assisting with Prep Tasks:
Also assist with prepping dishes or running food to the events, as needed
Ensuring Food Safety:
Monitor food preparation processes to ensure adherence to food safety and handling standards.
Other:
Train and develop staff in proper procedures and best practices while also providing coaching to help staff members reach the next stage in their career development.
Remain an ambassador of goodwill, ethics, and great client relations always on behalf of the Company.
Assist with other unit operations as necessary.
