Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst (the Catalyst) is a not-for-profit organization that is based at Toronto Metropolitan University, with its headquarters based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The Catalyst holds an international reputation as a major global hub for cybersecurity training, entrepreneurship, support for research through industry and academic fellowships, policy development and public education. The Catalyst offers a wide array of programs for individuals, entrepreneurs and organizations of all sizes, and delivers its programs and services throughout Canada and around the world, empowering individuals and organizations to seize the opportunities and tackle the challenges of cybersecurity. Through its groundbreaking training and certification programs; unique innovation programs for cybersecurity start-ups and scale-ups; first-of-its-kind cyber range; wide-ranging public education programs; and influential policy interventions, the Catalyst helps drive Canada’s global competitiveness in cybersecurity.
The Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst Board provides strategic oversight to help the Catalyst fulfil its mission. The Catalyst’s dedicated leadership is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, a group of 12 committed Board Members who are focused on the success and constant innovation of Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst. As a member of the Board, and in contributing to the collective achievement of the role of the Board, the Director acts in good faith and in the best interests of the Catalyst and, in so doing, supports the Catalyst in fulfilling its mission and discharging its accountabilities. Due to four upcoming vacancies, the RCC Board has identified governance experience, diversity, strong business acumen, technology, digital and/or cybersecurity experience, and certain professional attributes as core requirements for consideration to complement their current board of accomplished individuals.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated functional expertise gained in complex organizations, and will contribute to a healthy, innovative, dynamic board culture for Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst. To meet respective key competencies required on the Board, the ideal Director actively contributes skills and expertise in the areas of Government, Marketing and Sales, Human Resources or Finance (CPA), coupled with governance expertise and personal commitment to seizing the opportunities and tackling the challenges of cybersecurity. Expertise and passion in areas of technology, digital, start-ups and cybersecurity will be strongly valued in potential Directors.
