About the role
Join the Outreach team where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. In the role of Bilingual Housing Programs Outreach Specialist, you will manage the Québec portfolio and will act as the relationship manager for your clients located in this region. You will lead the development and implementation of proactive outreach strategies to promote CMHC programs, close information gaps and build capacity, and will seek opportunities and efficiency by working with the sector to maximize impact in advancing affordable housing outcomes for Canadians.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 12 months.
What you’ll do:
Promote CMHC’s affordable housing programs and initiatives under the National Housing Strategy, utilizing a variety of presentation methods (e.g, virtual or in-person conferences, webinars, workshops, panel discussions, etc.).
Identify and lead the implementation of a proactive strategic regional plan and strategies considering CMHC’s corporate objectives, Government priorities, regional context and key stakeholders’ needs.
Establishe and develop key sector relations with various associations and other related organizations who can help advance affordable housing outcomes.
Understand regional context, housing-related issues/barriers and key stakeholders’ needs.
Identify opportunities and implements initiatives, in collaboration with internal key stakeholders when needed, to support the uptake of programs, build capacity and to close information gaps.
Work collaboratively with internal departments to provide support and/or exchange information to achieve affordability goals within the given region.
What you should have:
An Undergraduate degree in urban planning, architecture, building science, social sciences, business administration, or related field.
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the housing field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills to build and maintain key client relationships.
A demonstrated experience disseminating strategies and tactics.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Good knowledge and understanding of the National Housing Strategy as well as the provincial housing market and trends.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Bilingualism (English and French).
