About the role
Join the Chief Financial Officer Team in the Analyst, Settlements and Pension Fund Analytics position. In this role you will process, analyze, and maintain settlement transactions, and/or accounts payable and/or accounts receivable. You will ensure accurate timely trade settlements across asset classes, handling discrepancies and coordinating with brokers and custodians. The role supports regulatory compliance, manages operational risks, and drives process improvements to enhance settlement efficiency and accuracy.
Due to operational requirements, the incumbent will need to be available to start from 7:30 A.M. EST, Monday to Friday.
What you’ll do:
Conduct the cash management analysis for the Pension Fund and recommends whether assets need to be bought or sold.
Ensure timely and accurate settlement of trades across various asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives).
Reconcile discrepancies between trade confirmations, broker statements, and internal records.
Coordinate with custodians, brokers, and clearing houses to resolve trade breaks and settlement issues.
Monitor settlement activities to ensure adherence to market deadlines and avoid failed trades.
Prepare and review settlement reports to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
Support regulatory and audit requirements by providing settlement-related data and documentation.
Manage cash and securities movement in line with trade and settlement instructions.
What you should have:
An undergraduate degree or college diploma in business administration, finance and economics with a concentration in finance/accounting.
A minimum of one year experience in financial analysis focussed on capital markets.
Strong understanding of financial markets, trade lifecycle, and settlement processes.
Broad knowledge and understanding of corporate accounting policies, processes and systems, particularly as they relate to the areas of responsibility.
Broad knowledge and understanding of financial and internal control frameworks, requirements, and procedures.
It would be great if you also had:
An understanding of the Canadian financial system.
Experience in the banking industry.
Bilingualism (French and English).
