Solicitor (3+ year call) Full Time
We are seeking a dynamic solicitor with relevant experience, strong attention to detail, enthusiasm for learning, and commitment to supporting First Nations, to join our collegial, supportive and fast-paced group of lawyers and legal professionals. This position is best suited for a 3+ year call working in our Vancouver office.
We enjoy a varied solicitor practice, including:
• drafting customized governance documents including laws, bylaws, and policies;
• creating and maintaining corporate structures including limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, societies and not-for-profit corporations;
• providing general counsel advice to long-standing clients;
• drafting agreements such as impact-benefit agreements, mutual benefit agreements, exploration and mining agreements and settlement agreements;
• acting for landlords and tenants in commercial leasing, on-reserve and off-reserve;
• on-reserve land development including addition to reserve and certificates of possession;
• creating community trusts; and
• acting for borrowers in financing transactions.
Salary depends on year of call and experience.
