Metal Roofer Apprentice Full Time

Laing Roofing Vernon is recruiting for Metal Roofer Apprentices to join their team in Vernon, British Columbia.
As a Metal Roofer Apprentice you will be closely supervised and work alongside our Journeyman to aid the learning process. Specific job duties include:
• Assist with the installation and repair of various roofing systems.
• Identify different types of metal roofing materials and gauges of metal.
• Operate hand and power tools such as measuring tools, snips, seamers, saws and drills.
• Fastening and instal panels and flashings under supervision.
• Cut and shape metal panels.
• Fabricate custom metal components.
• Assist in the application of waterproof coatings to concrete or other roofing surfaces
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Follow all safety protocols (e.g. fall protections, tool safety).
• Assist journeyman roofers in various construction activities, as directed.
Job Requirements
• Completion of secondary school
• At least one year of previous construction experience is required.
Additional information
• Wage: Starting at $28/hour with yearly increases of up to $3/hr.
• Job status: Full time, year-round, permanent position.
