Titan Boats is now searching for a Marine Systems Technician to join their team. This position is responsible for performing quality installations, service, and maintenance on all vessels to maintain Titan’s reputation for performance and exceptional quality. This will include the installation of high/low voltage marine electrical systems, engines, and plumbing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Production
• Follows overall production processes and procedures
• Interprets work orders, deadlines, and general instructions
• Create cost and material estimates, along with detailed project schedules and reports.
• Participates in project kickoffs, handoffs, touchdowns, and other production-related meetings
• Participates in quality control meetings
• Follows required safety guidelines
Marine Systems
• Monitor and inspect mechanical installations of projects related to marine vessels.
• Applies practical electrical practices to install and wire high/low voltage marine electrical systems
• Installs windows, bilges, arches, fuel lines, decks, t-tops, batteries, pumps, tubes, safety gear, and other components according to knowledge of the systems being assembled
• Troubleshoots issues and solves problems that arise during installations
• Prepares vessels for sea trials and deliveries, setting up trailers and loading/unloading vessels accordingly
• Conducts quality control checks to ensure all work is done to Titan’s standards
• Participates in 3rd party inspections of electronics as required
• Corrects deficiencies that are identified during quality control checks, sea trials, and other inspections
• Records and tracks parts accurately to ensure there are no extra/missing parts
General
• Completes daily time sheets correctly and on time
• Assist in developing schedules and programs for the maintenance crews
• Attends regular meetings, daily huddles, and other meetings as required
Employment Requirements:
• Completion of a one- or two-year college program in mechanical engineering technology or a combination of experience in marine systems/ engineering
• ABYC Marine Systems Certification preferred
• NMEA Installer Training (MEI, NMEA 2000, AMEI, etc.) preferred
• Mercury Outboard Certified Technician or Yamaha Maintenance Certification is an asset.
• Forklift operation’s certification preferred.
• Experience with the principles, techniques, and practices involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of marine plumbing, hydraulic, bilge, fuel systems, marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with boat building and technical knowledge of associated drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and techniques.
• Ability to reach above head height, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach
