The Live-In Caregiver will provide full-time care, supervision, and support to the client (elderly disabled person) in a private household setting. The caregiver will assist with daily living activities, ensure safety, provide companionship, and maintain a clean, organized home environment. The position requires the caregiver to reside in the employer’s home during the employment period.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility support).
Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements.
Administer prescribed medication as instructed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the client’s living areas (laundry, linens, light housekeeping).
Accompany the client to medical appointments, social activities, or recreational outings.
Monitor and record client’s physical and emotional well-being; report changes to the employer or medical professionals.
Provide companionship and emotional support to ensure client’s comfort and mental health.
Follow safety procedures and emergency protocols at all times.
Respect the privacy and dignity of the client and maintain confidentiality.
Employment Terms
Position Type: Full-time, Live-in
Work Location: Employer’s residence
Hours: 40–44 hours per week (may include weekends or flexible shifts)
Wage: $18–20 per hour
Accommodation: Private furnished room provided at no cost.
Qualifications
Secondary school education / diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of full-time caregiving experience or completion of a caregiver training program.
First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
Basic English communication skills (verbal and written) If Tamil is known, it is added advantage.
Ability to handle household equipment safely and maintain hygiene standards.
Compassionate, patient, and responsible with strong interpersonal skills.
Additional Information
Must be willing to live in the employer’s home during the employment period.
No extended travel required unless accompanying the client.
Employer will provide meals and lodging (live-in arrangement).
