With it’s ever growing and diverse senior residents clientele and currently undertaking accreditation for our services, Adaptacare Personal Care Homes Inc is looking for an experienced (over 5 years minimum), reliable and dependable Kitchen Manager not only to supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of workers who prepare, portion and serve food, but will play a major role in the accreditation process for the company. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for overseeing food preparation; cooking; examining food plating and temperatures; hiring, training, and scheduling cooks; kitchen helpers; performing quality control on food leaving the kitchen; ordering inventory; ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols and managing food costs and preparing and maintaining kitchen monthly budget while working directly with both the Finance and Operations Directors; participate in safety audits and programs; evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury and develop and implement health and safety plans.

Tasks
Establish methods to meet work schedules
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
Hire food service staff
Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
Prepare budget and cost estimates
Address customers’ complaints or concerns
Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
Prepare and submit reports
Prepare food order summaries for chef
Must have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres
Supervise and check assembly of trays
Supervise and check delivery of food trolleys
Establish work schedules; including
Participate in safety audits and programs;
Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
and Develop and implement health and safety plans.
