INSTITUTIONAL COOK Full Time
Our 60-bed-capacity supportive living facility located in the north side of the city of Lethbridge is looking for one (1) reliable institutional cook to cater to the needs of our senior residents with dietary restrictions and modifications. The position will be for a full time, term/contract of 2 years with a strong possibility of continuing full time employment thereafter @ 30 hours per week. Term or contract dates will be adjusted until we find the suitable and qualified applicants for the position.
Wage: $17.00 per hour

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate; Safe Food Handling certificate; Food Safety Certificate
Experience
Experience cooking for seniors in a congregate facility setting an asset.

Supervise kitchen staff and helpers; Order supplies and equipment; Manage kitchen operations; Inspect kitchens and food service areas; Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef; Clean kitchen and work areas; Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment; Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods; Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
