Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or nurse care aid diploma course
Experience: at least 5 years experience
Transportation/Travel: Employer will pay for the costs of a public transport pass and there is public transport to employer’s work location.
Job Description: Looking to fill 2 positions. Must be able to work with patients that have ventilated tracheostomy, be able to remove and replace tracheostomy and the care related to this, be able to suction canula, be able to administer and draw up nebulized and non-nebulized medications, experience with using a cough assist machine, administration of a puffer through tracheostomy specialized tubing, experience opening and attaching oxygen tanks to vent, experience with oxygen concentrator, use and attach pulse oximeter, take sputum samples to the lab, remove and replace gastronomy tube as well as the care related to this, carry out a range of motion and daily exercises, transport child from the medical bed to commode and wheelchair,
Work Conditions: Repetitive tasks taking care of one young medically intensive needs child. Must be able to use a hoyer lift as well as manually lift 45lbs, accompany child to medical appointments and preschool.
– Must have CPR training
– Must have Suctioning and BVM (Bag Valve Mask) training
– Hours of employment will vary 30-40 hrs per week.
