Main duties
The Caregiver will perform the following duties:
• Supervise and care for the children in the employer’s residence
• Oversee activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by the employer
• Bathe, dress, and feed the children
• Prepare formulas and change diapers
• Plan, lead, and guide activities throughout the day, such as reading, physical activity, and creative expression through art and song
• Plan, prepare, and serve meals and may perform other housekeeping duties
• Instruct in personal hygiene and provide guidance with safe hygiene practices
• Monitor the children throughout the day and ensure safety at all times
• Ensure the play environment is kept sanitary and implement a cleaning schedule
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Tend to the children’s emotional well-being and support social development
• Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading, and outings
• Take the children to and from appointments
• Keep records of daily activities and health information.
Employment Requirements
Completion of secondary school and some college is required at minimum.
Require completion of a training program in child care.
Child care and household management experience is required.
First aid certification and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training will be required.
The successful candidate will have three or more years of experience in child care. The individual should have practical knowledge of how to take care of babies through preschool-age children and what to expect.
