We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing a variety of floor coverings including carpet, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl. The Floor Covering Installer will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and installing floor coverings according to specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Measure and assess the area to be covered and determine the amount of materials needed.
· Prepare the surface for installation by removing old flooring, leveling the subfloor, and repairing any imperfections.
· Cut and shape floor coverings to fit around obstacles and in irregularly shaped rooms.
· Install floor coverings using appropriate adhesives, fasteners, or interlocking mechanisms.
· Ensure proper alignment and spacing of floor coverings for a neat and professional finish.
· Inspect completed installations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste materials.
· Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
· Keep abreast of industry trends, techniques, and materials to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Employment Requirements:
· Completion of secondary school
· A combination of over 4 years of work experience and some high school, college or industry courses in floor covering installation OR minimum 2-year apprenticeship program
· Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and perform repetitive tasks
Your Skills:
· Strong understanding of measuring, cutting, and fitting techniques
· Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
· Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship
