Quin-Sea Fisheries, a division of Royal Greenland, is a leading fish processing company based in Newfoundland and Labrador that has provided quality North Atlantic Seafood to markets around the globe for over 38 years. Quin-Sea operates six seafood-processing facilities in the province with a wide array of local species.
Currently, we’re recruiting 15 Seafood Plant Labourer’s in our Old Perlican, Cape Broyle and Southern Harbour facilities. Contract durations will be 1 year. Successful candidates may be required to work at all three locations depending on product availability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Receive, process, pack and prepare seafood products relating to the production line
• Unload product from fishing vessels and transport by hand or forklift to plant
• Verify and log slips from vessel into system once offloaded
• Transport supplies and packaging materials throughout plant area manually or with forklift
• Detailed clean-up and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure environment is sterile for food preparation, processing, storage, and packaging.
• Conduct quality inspections on products to ensure conformance to company’s standards by performing manual and automated checks
• Other duties throughout plant as needed

Education and Qualifications
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous industry, factory, Q/A, or professional cleaning experience considered an asset
• Previous forklift experience considered an asset
• Good verbal communication skills to maintain open dialogue
• Reliable, punctual and ability to meet tight timelines
• Work independently and with minimal supervision
• Have a strong work ethic and “Can Do” attitude
• Attention to detail
• Able to work flexible hours as required
• English language skills required
Other Job Information
• Constantly lifting or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
• Standing for long periods of time
• Good dexterity
• Working in a loud, damp, fast-paced environment
