Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Fibreglass Trimmer. The trimmer will report to the Plant Manager. As a member of the Production Team, you will be responsible for trimming our fiberglass bathtubs and showers. This role will require strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work in a team environment.
Essential responsibilities for this position include the following:
• Use a variety of light and heavy machinery to trim and grind fabricated components.
• Operate equipment such as power drills, power grinders, power saws, power sanders, power screw guns, utility knives, vacuums, and others as required.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Responsible to comply with all applicable company safety, environmental, HR and Quality Management System policies and procedures and to report any violations observed to the Plant Manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Able to speak, read and write using English language
Work Experience
• Minimum 7 months experience in fibreglass trimming required. Proof of employment certificates to confirm experience is required.
• Light machinery operation with certificates required
Skills
• Able to follow verbal instructions and use simple math skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to stand and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time
• Comfortable wearing a full-face respirator for extended periods
• Able to lift 50 lbs and maneuver 100-150 lbs units with a hand truck
• Attention to detail and work well with others
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop
• Reliability/Dependability
Working Conditions
• Employee will be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring provided personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Employee will be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals, high temperatures and high levels of noise.
• Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment
Terms of Employment
• Permanent Position
• 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday.
• Overtime if necessary by Plant Manager
