The Morning Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and plating breakfast dishes according to the chit requests. This includes cooking eggs in various styles (such as poached and fried), making pancakes, cooking breakfast meats, and ensuring the quality and consistency of all dishes served during breakfast service. The role also involves assisting with lunch prep and service as needed, under the direction of the Chef and Sous Chef.
This is a short-term contract between June-August, requiring the individual to remain at the lodge for the full duration. All travel, accommodations, meals, snacks and beverages are provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch for guests at the lodge
Ensuring consistent quality of standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
Ensuring proper equipment operation, safety, and sanitization in the kitchen
Complying with food safety regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
Monitoring and recording temperatures for food items, as well as logging all necessary information to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
Cleaning, washing and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas
Preparing adequate quantities of the menu choices by following all production quotas set and budget guidelines
Following proper storage and rotation of all food supplies
Occasional split shift may be required to assist with dinner service
Physical Demands:
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
Climb ladders or stairs
Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time
Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
Perform work with arms at full length
Work with arms above shoulder height
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Previous experience providing a hot breakfast and lunch service in high volumes is required
Current Food Safe certificate is required
Experience with producing baked goods (scratch baking and/or pre-fab items) is an asset
A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction
Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
Passion for the outdoors with the ability to commit to the full duration of the work term while remaining at the lodge for the full duration
Ability to successfully complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) level 3
