Responsibilities

Tasks
Set machine or equipment controls
Develop computer applications for machines and processes
Read blueprints and drawings
Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts
Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Organize tasks to accomplish the work
Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools
Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
Set up and adjust production machineries/tools
• Create CNC programs from part drawings with little or no assistance
• Set up and machine a component from a part drawing with little or no assistance

Experience and specialization

Computer and technology knowledge
Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
• Mazak Mazatrol and Fusion 360

Equipment and machinery experience:
• Mazak CNC lathes and VMCs, and Haas VMCs
