Job Description
We are looking for a Civil Engineer with an interest in trenchless conveyance and multidisciplined infrastructure projects at our Vancouver Office. The team you will be joining is involved in projects ranging from large diameter water and wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, tunneling and other trenchless installation projects, municipal roads design, district energy piping design, hydraulic analysis, hydro energy recovery and much more. Depending on your experience, there is opportunity to take a lead role with increasing responsibility on significant regional infrastructure projects, supporting our principal engineers on a wide variety of complex and challenging initiatives. Duties include the following:
Acting as Project Engineer/Manager on assignments.
• Providing support to technicians and designers to ensure that contract drawings are accurately prepared and checked.
• Preparing written technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, and design criteria reports.
• Preparing contract documents and construction drawings.
• Preparing funding submissions.
• Overseeing, and coordinating, work for Civil Technologists.
• Performing construction administration/inspection.
• Performing project management tasks including communications with clients, managing schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements.
• Achieving budget compliance on assigned engineering projects to ensure financial objectives are met or exceeded.
• Effectively and clearly communicating, both verbally and in writing, with clients.
• Coordinating sub-consultants on projects.
• Coordinating with various project disciplines on larger projects.
• Executing projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
• Participating in marketing strategies and business development with clients to procure business.
• Assisting with writing proposals to procure new projects.
Job Requirements
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Eligible for professional licensing with EGBC as a P.Eng.
• 10+ years of civil design experience.
• 10+ years of experience and proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• 10+ years of experience in the undertaking of design, specifications, cost estimating, tendering, and construction.
• Minimum 10 years of experience on site for civil infrastructure construction projects.
• Proven communication and organization skills.
• Committed team player.
• Track record in managing clients and developing client relationships.
• Proven people skills for both internal and external clients.
• Motivated to grow career.
• Ability to liaise effectively and clearly with clients, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable working on a variety of project types in a variety of disciplines and sectors across Canada.
