Join the Office of the Enterprise Data Governance team where we lead our digital transformation by improving data quality and integrity to accelerate housing affordability. We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation, and partnerships. In this role, you will support the design, development, implementation, maintenance, evolution and enhancement of the Information Management (IM) functions (information, data, knowledge and records) at CMHC. You will help the organization realize the full value of its structured and unstructured data and information assets and evolve the corporate information taxonomy. You will also implement and manage an effective data/information governance model and frameworks to address the safe, effective and efficient sharing of information across CMHC.Â

Responsibilities:Â
Â
Manage the process of identifying, analyzing, educating, and influencing the management of data risks across the organization.
Identify the organizational data risks impacts and understanding the procedures associated with data governance controls.Â
Support the development of directives, standards and guidelines ensuring successful implementation and maintenance of an information governance framework according to the Data Lifecycle Management.
Provide functional/technical guidance and direction to create alignment and adherence to data/information governance policies for stakeholders.
Produce periodic data risk reporting and direct external partners in the delivery of client-oriented information, records and knowledge management services to CMHC by supporting selection of software and establishing policies/procedures/practices in collaboration with business partners and IT colleagues.
Ensure there is a clear linkage between the business vision / strategic context, governance policy, and the scope of assigned IM deliverables.
Ensure the corporate information governance practices, controls and deliverables adhere to and are consistent with CMHC’s policies and regulations.
Ensure that data and information quality issues and risks are monitored, measured and categorized with remedial actions dealt with expeditiously by the appropriate function (internal and outsourced partner(s)).Â
Ensure proper risk and security considerations are fully integrated in IM processes, policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:Â
 Â
Undergraduate degree in a related field such as computer science, finance, legal, or commerce and a minimum of 7 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Risk Management, Data Privacy, Compliance and Risk, Strategy and/or Data Lifecycle Management.
A master’s degree in a data-related subject and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Privacy, Compliance and Risk, Strategy and/or Data management processes and technology will also be considered.
Experience documenting directives, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
Experience with data governance and management tools (preference Collibra/Informatica).
Strong knowledge of data governance, data lifecycle management and data risk frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical and systems thinking.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
Excellent ability to understand and align technical solutions to business goals.
Ability to manage external vendors relationships and working with remote teams.
Bilingual (English and French).
