The Coordinator, Collaborative Projects and Indigenization provides coordination and support for project leaders, projects, and strategic initiatives that advance effective and innovative collaborative leadership practices across the B.C. post-secondary system. This job is suited to a service-oriented critical thinker and culturally respectful engager who enjoys a fast-paced, energetic, learning-focused workplace.
The Coordinator, Collaborative Projects and Indigenization will work with the internal Indigenization Learning Circle in supporting the organization to incorporate the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and recognize the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples throughout various organization materials (policies, processes, and communications). This position will support the BCcampus team to advance their journey in reconciliation, recognize and decolonize processes and actions, and build relationships by indigenizing services as appropriate.
This position reports to the Director, Collaborative Projects. The Coordinator, Collaborative Projects and Indigenization also works and liaises with BCcampus staff, along with staff and educators from partner institutions and various government contacts associated with collaborative projects.
Coordinate with project managers on the planning and delivery of BCcampus online and face-to-face project meetings and events, including meeting logistics (polling, invitations, tracking, agendas) and follow-up (minutes, action items).
Conduct research and environmental scans for projects and present results both textually and orally in a timely and professional way to project stakeholders.
Create and monitor project participation and evaluation data to supplement reports.
Coordinate and support meeting moderation, technology, and engagement.
Coordinate, support, and maintain collaborative project records, including using SharePoint and other repositories to access and share relevant project data.
Provide accurate word processing support by composing and/or editing a variety of documents, including confidential correspondence, memoranda, contracts, and proposals.
Manage consistent communication with project stakeholders and contract personnel (writers, editors, content experts, etc.).
Maintain basic stakeholder management with project partners and contracted services.
Provide project support by initiating documentation in collaboration with project managers and copyediting project materials
Provide coordination between internal supports to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for collaboration.
Provide calendar support both with project managers as well as with internal stakeholders to create better cohesion between departments.
Create and nurture working relationships with each unit at BCcampus to best ensure their initiatives meet requirements for Indigenization.
Provide culturally relevant guidance and support for staff who are working with Indigenous Peoples, agencies, and communities on projects and initiatives.
Identify and implement culturally appropriate learning activities to advance Indigenization at BCcampus.
Liaise with Indigenous Elders, knowledge holders, and Indigenous education leaders and agencies on behalf of BCcampus, as needed.
Provide ongoing and proactive coordination in the effort to streamline processes through the development of templates and process review.
Provide support to external stakeholders with the expense claim process at BCcampus.
Support budget and financial reporting requirements.

This is a full-time, multi-year contract term. We encourage secondments from the public sector (post-secondary institutions, agencies, government) as well as applicants from diverse backgrounds who can bring their lived experience to our team.
Demonstrated experience working with experience working with Indigenous Peoples, Elders, organizations, agencies, and communities.
Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education, and at least 2 years of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
Demonstrated understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation calls to action.
Understanding of decolonization, marginalization, racism, and allyship.
Exceptional facilitation skills to achieve goals and objectives.
Conversational and plain-language writing skills.
