Administrative Clerk – Ottawa Septic System Office (OSSO)
Full time Summer position (April 28, 2025 to August 30, 2025)
Work location: RVCA Headquarters, 3889 Rideau Valley Drive
There is no direct public transportation to the worksite; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation prior to applying.
About the RVCA:
RVCA is one of 36 conservation authorities in Ontario responsible for furthering the “conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources in the watershed” under the Conservation Authorities Act. We are dedicated to protecting people and property from natural hazards like flooding and erosion, while conserving the wetlands, forests and natural areas that reduce their impacts.
About the Job
You will be responsible for:
• Compiling, recording and distributing applications and permits for processing.
• Maintaining digital and hard-copy records.
• Updating databases and generating routine and maps.
• Providing exceptional customer service to our applicants and other external clients.
• From time-to-time helping with special research projects and public education workshops.
Who you are
As the preferred candidate you:
• Are a post-secondary student or graduate of a program related to environmental studies.
• Have one year administrative or clerical experience.
• Have excellent computer and typing skills and particularly use Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
• Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. Being able to communicate verbally in French is as asset.
• Have exceptional customer service skills demonstrated organizational skills.
• Can meet regular deadlines.
• Can occasionally drive an RVCA vehicle, therefore you must hold a valid Driver’s License and have a driving record deemed acceptable by the RVCA.
What we offer
• Full time hours (35 hours per week) from the beginning of April to the end of August
• Hourly rate of $17.70
• Option to join the OMERS pension plan
• Free onsite parking
