Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrative assistant to join the BCSC’s Trading Unit in the Enforcement division. You will provide administrative assistance to the Manager of the Trading Unit and members of the team, to support the branch as they detect, disrupt and investigate insider trading and market manipulation.
Main Responsibilities
Some of your main responsibilities include:
• Recording referrals, intelligence, and subjects in a database
• Conducting initial screening and open source searches on events and cases
• Editing and formatting correspondence, memos, charts, orders, and presentations
• Assisting with the redaction of evidence
• Arranging for the service of documents
• Entering trading information into spreadsheets
• Organizing interviews, including booking court reporters and translators
• Making travel arrangements for witnesses and investigators
• Responding to internal and external inquiries
• Preparing the daily schedule and materials for the Manager
• Providing backup for other Enforcement assistants.
Qualifications
The qualifications of the successful candidate include:
• High school graduation and completion of an Executive Assistant program, and a minimum of four year’s administrative assistant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Securities industry experience and education, in particular relating to trading, is an asset, as is solid knowledge of the functions of the BC Securities Commission.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows and its applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
• 50 WPM typing ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• An ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Ability to work under occasional stress and maintain a positive attitude
• Good judgment and initiative.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $54,153(minimum) – $63,710 (midpoint) – $73,267 (maximum).
The starting salary for this position will be determined considering the successful candidate’s relevant experience and education, salaries of other employees in the same salary range, market conditions and other relevant factors. Starting salaries are normally below the salary band midpoint.
